My Background
I am Stephe Worley, the owner of Athletes in Pain Sports Therapy Clinic, and I have over 33 years of experience as a Sports Therapist. Throughout my career, I have worked with numerous athletes, helping them overcome pain and achieve peak performance.
I hold a BS degree in Exercise Science/Physiology and Movement from Northwestern University and am certified in Structural Integration/Myofascial Release Therapy. Additionally, I am a Certified Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Personal Trainers. My expertise is reflected in my authorship of an exercise documentation manual titled "My Personal Trainer," published in November 1998, and my co-authorship of the book "Wake Up Shape Up."
Some of my notable career highlights include working with the Jamaican and British Olympic Team sprinters at the 1996 Olympics, the University of Arkansas track team in 2000 and 2001, and serving as the Sports Therapist for the "Twisters" arena football team during the same period. In 2009, I was the Head Sports Therapist for the Women's 7's US Rugby Team. I also worked directly with seven Denver Broncos players in 2014, including Julius Thomas, Brandon Marshall, TJ Ward, Stephen Johnson, and Marvin Austin. Since 2022, I have been the Sports Therapist for "The Little Rock Lightning" NBA Developmental League.
In addition to my professional accomplishments, I competed in bodybuilding for 10 years, consistently placing in the top three in all contests. This personal experience has further fueled my passion for not only my work but also for educating each person about how to increase the efficiency of their bodies. I believe that no two people are alike, and therefore, rehab and athleticenhancement should be tailored to the individual.
At my clinic, I use slow-motion video analysis as a diagnostic tool to gather precise information on what’s happening in an athlete’s body under stress. This helps identify differences in muscular tightness, fascial restrictions, and muscular weaknesses, providing the necessary information to create specific stretching and resistance training programs that treat the root problem, not just the symptoms.
Beyond my clinical work, I am a regular guest on KARN’s “The Dave Elswick Show,” a weekly two-hour call-in talk show about health, fitness, injuries, and prevention. I have also been a keynote speaker at several conferences and seminars, including the Committee on Women’s Concerns, the Arkansas Triathlon Society, the AHSEA Conference, the Arkansas Running Klub, the Arkansas Arthritis Foundation, and the UAMS Health Fair.
My journey as a Sports Therapist has been incredibly rewarding, and I am deeply committed to helping athletes overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
