Athletes in Pain Sports Therapy.......
After a year of competing in the sport of Triathlon and about 15 races under my belt, I came to Stephe to improve my run time. As an athlete with a diverse sports background ranging from Ice Hockey to NCAA Men's Swimming, I wasn't naive to training or competition. However, running was not a strength of mine. I would constantly get shin splints and occasional knee pains from running. I experienced tight hamstrings and felt like I could not get a full range of motion in my hips and run gait because of these muscle restrictions. After about a week of sports therapy sessions at Athletes in Pain - my running pace dropped from a 9:30 mile pace to about 7:15 per mile at the same effort and heart rate because of the increase in my run stride. Dropping over 2 minutes per mile on my run has greatly improved my race results thanks to Stephe.

Following my first triathlon of the season in June, I injured my right calf and foot in a 2 mile race and could barely walk. The owner of a local running shoe store suggested I go see Stephe at Athletes in Pain. He suggested that I quit running or biking for several weeks and started working on my injury twice a week. A month later I was still nursing the injury but by following his advice I am now able to compete in Triathlons again. He has made a world of difference with therapy in my foot and leg and helped me with my diet and gave me prescribed training exercises. I am confident that as a result of his therapy and changes in my training I am going to be more competitive than ever. Already, this summer is turning out to be my best
tri-athlon season ever and I am not even going at full speed yet! Randy Oates - Triathlete |
